About Legacy
The Legacy Dance Company Competitive Program is an audition-only program that allows passionate and committed dancers to take their dance training to the next level. We train our dancers to be hard-working, kind and confident. Our dancer's well-being is always our first priority, and we go above and beyond to ensure that our studio is a positive learning environment for all.
All members of our competitive program have the opportunity to participate in local and out-of-town competitions, additional training and performance opportunities (solo, duet, trio, small groups), team-building, social events, fundraising, and more.
Each of our competitive teams has different requirements that can be found below. Age ranges are a suggestion and final team placement will be decided on by the studio director.
Tiny Team (Ages 3 - 5)
Class Requirements: Combo Class (1 hour)
Competition Requirements: 1 local competition (at teacher discretion)
Mini Team (Ages 4-6)
Class Requirements: Combo technique & Combo Choreography (2 hours total)
Competition Requirements: up to 2 local competitions & 1 out-of-town competition + additional optional competitions
Junior Team (Ages 7 - 10)
Class Requirements: Ballet Technique, Ballet Choreography, Jazz, Acro and Hip hop (5 hours)
Optional Classes: Tap, Production, Musical Theater
Competition Requirements: up to 3 local competitions & 2 out-of-town competitions + additional optional competitions
Intermediate Team (Ages 11-14)
Class Requirements: Ballet Technique, Ballet Choreography, Tech & Tricks, Jazz Choreography, Production (6 hours)
Optional Classes: Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Tap, Musical Theatre, Acro
Competition Requirements: up to 3 local competitions & 2 out-of-town competitions + additional optional competitions
Senior Team (Ages 15+)
Class Requirements: Technique (Jazz/Ballet combo), Production, Jazz Choreography, Plus at least one additional class of choice (5 hours)
Optional Classes: Ballet Choreography, Lyrical, Contemporary (must take lyrical), Hip-Hop, Tap, Musical Theatre.
Competition Requirements: up to 3 local competitions & 2 out-of-town competitions + additional optional competitions
